Valencia, July 8, 2025 – TEKIA, in joint venture with Inserail and Airtren, has been awarded a new contract by ADIF to execute Phase II of the technical assistance for the supervision and control of critical railway infrastructure works on the Nudo La Encina – Xàtiva – Valencia section, part of the strategic Mediterranean Corridor. This contract, valued at €2.57 million, has a duration of 19 months.

This phase builds upon the previous one initiated in 2020, focusing on the supervision and validation of critical railway subsystems, including electronic interlockings, train protection and control systems (such as ERTMS and ASFA), Centralized Traffic Control (CTC), auxiliary detection equipment, power supply systems, fixed and mobile telecommunications, video surveillance, access control, and safety installations. The scope covers both conventional and high-speed rail lines, ensuring full compliance with European standards (CENELEC, ERTMS specifications) and ADIF’s technical requirements.

The technical complexity and the emergence of unforeseen challenges during project execution have necessitated the extension of this contract, guaranteeing the highest standards of operational safety, system reliability, and quality assurance throughout all project phases.

The Mediterranean Corridor is a strategic infrastructure project for Spain and Europe, designed to enhance interoperability, connectivity, and cohesion between major Mediterranean cities. This initiative facilitates seamless integration with the European rail network, supports regional economic development, and promotes sustainable mobility by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
