Abril 2024. Adif has awarded the Esteyco-TEKIA joint venture the drafting of a project to improve security at the Pirámides and Valdebebas stations.

These two stations are within the program to improve evacuation, ventilation and protection conditions in the event of fire that ADIF promotes in the Madrid commuter network. The award was made for an amount of 879,773.10 euros and an execution period of 30 months.

The design will analyze the fire risk of the stations as a whole and the proposed solutions will go beyond the mandatory regulatory compliance, using performance-based studies with the help of computer simulation tools that will adapt the solution to the particularities of each station, avoiding the execution of measures that are difficult to implement technically and/or economically and facilitating the identification and comparison of possible alternative measures.

TEKIA has a team of engineers highly specialized in ventilation and safety projects in underground infrastructures, which brings together experience in more than one hundred road and railway projects including tunnels and stations, in which studies of different nature have been carried out, such as analysis of risks, PBD studies with the help of CFD simulation and people movement, sizing, designs and technical prescriptions, as well as technical assistance and help in the implementation of ventilation and civil protection systems.
