Tenerife, August 2023. Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council awards TEKIA Ingenieros the control of Urban mobility services to monitor the execution of the services that must make a city more efficient, safe and respectful of the environment.
The council put out to tender the maintenance, regulation and management and control service of these systems, and in a very correct but still not frequent decision, it also put out to tender the specialized technical assistance that must guarantee the quality of the work, a contract that has been awarded to TEKIA, which will thus be in charge of supervising works such as access control installations, traffic light control and implementation of systems related to mobility. In particular, according to Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez, the Low Emission Zones (ZBE) will have to be delimited and managed following the European standard.
With a solid 25 years of experience in intelligent transportation systems (ITS) consulting, TEKIA has worked on the project and supervision of contracts for urban mobility management systems (ZBE, traffic light control, etc.) in Spain (Ferrol, San Sebastián, Roquetas de Mar, Málaga), also working internationally in Latin America with the municipalities of Lima, Bogotá, Quito, etc., as well as in other geographical spaces, such as the Maghreb, India and others.
